Schumacher Chevy and Give the Kids Hope Foundation

David Harris may be a starting linebacker for the New York Jets, but he tackles an even tougher opponent during his team's great winning streak, the poverty of thousands of New Jersey youngsters. Harris helps represent and support Give the Kids Hope Foundation, Inc., an organization established to help impoverished children in New Jersey. It was launched earlier this year by Stephen Tilton, Jr., CFO of Tilton Automotive Group, the second largest Chevrolet dealership in New Jersey, which owns Schumacher Chevrolet in Little Falls and Gearhart Chevrolet in Denville.

Give The Kids Hope Foundation Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to help and provide children the strength of hope they need to survive in today's world. The foundation is presently focusing their efforts in Passaic County at Camp Hope with a goal to build a state-of-the-art media center for the kids and senior citizens. Although they enrich and educate the children in many ways, the ultimate goal is to Give The Kids Hope!

Camp Hope was founded in 1938 as a hope and dream for Passaic County children that lived through the Depression of 1929 and came from families who were still struggling through each and every day. It was given the name "Camp Hope" to give hope to men, women and children who were less fortunate, so they might see that there is an opportunity for all to prosper and live a good life.

Every summer, the camp is filled with energy and laughter as hundreds of children converge to enjoy the fun and sun. At Camp Hope, children have the opportunity to swim in the county's Olympic sized swimming pool, create craft projects, go paddle boating, play ball games and miniature golf, take nature hikes, dance and experience life in a wholesome way.
